Abstract
Acrylic dentures can become colonised by Candida albicans and cause oral candidosis. Electrolysed oxidizing water (EOW), generated by passing an electric current through brine, has shown promise as a potent and “green” disinfectant. The suitability of neutral-pH EOW as a denture disinfectant is unknown.
This study evaluated the storage stability of neutral-pH EOW (ANK Neutral Anolyte, Envirolyte, NZ), its anti-Candida albicans activity and the effect of long-term exposure on denture resins.
